Portishead adalah salah satu band Triphop, musik Trip hop sendiri
berkembang di era awal 90 di Inggris, musik Triphop digambarkan dengan
tempo lambat yang konsisten ditambah dengan unsur electro pada musik
tersebut. Lebih lanjut Portishead adalah salah satu mainsteram pada
musik Trip hop, kalau kita pernah dengan jingle untuk iklan Levis blue
jean pada awal tahun 90 maka kita akan tahu bahwa lagu yang digunakan
adalah lagu Glory Box-Portishead.
Setelah saya mendengarkan
lagu tersebut terkesan Gloomy dan sangat dingin (seperti biasanya music
Portishead). Lagu tersebut kalau saya gambarkan sangat kental nuansa
apatisme manusia terhadap sesamanya, hal tersebut dapat dilihat pada
lirik
"Oh, can't anybody see,
We've got a war to fight,
Never found our way,
Regardless of what they say."
Ya salah satu sisi apatisme manusia yang terus berkembang, dan ketidak
pedulian yang sangat parah terhadap sesamnya, itu pun yang semakin
membuat sisi absurditas manusia semakin dominan. Manusia sekarang adalah
manusia yang tidak manusiawi terhadap sesamanya.
Jatuhnya manusia dalam absurditas adalah sebuah tragedi sejarah
