Gaya hidup lemmy yang liar merupakan bentuk pelarian instan dari masa kecilnya yang suram. Sejak berusia 3 bulan lemmy sudah mengalami perceraian ke dua orang tuannya. Gaya hidup yang bebas tersebut merupakan cermin dari masa kecil lemmy yang tidak mendapatkan kasih sayang dan figur utuh kasih sayang, seharusnya juga lemmy saat menginjak usia tua sadar akan kesehatannya, dari informasi yang beredar lemmy telat menyadari kalau dirinya mungkin telah mengidap penyakit cancer stadium terminal, berikut kutipannya;

Seharusnya beliau lebih memperhatikan kodis kesehatannya saat usia tua. Nah yang baru tahu ternyata lemmy adala road manager dari band progresive Nice dan Carl Palmer yang menjadi frontman, seperti yang kita ketahui carl palmer adalah juga drumer dari sebuah band progresive legendaris ELP, dan juga carl palmer turut mengucapkan duka cita atas meninggalnya lemmy, berikut saya kutip dari akun facebook Keith Emerson

Lemmy was our road manager and he presented a formidable figure of someone that did not take any prisoners or suffer gladly
The Nice were then in there destructive art period a term used by Pete Townsende. Lemmy came up after show . "Ere if you'r gonna use knife use a real one and gave me two Hitler Youth Knive"
He was an avid collector of World War 2 paraphernalia-not that he was into the horrors of that war. No, far from it. His reckoning was that if you're going to send an army to war-dress 'em so they feel and look good. The English according to my father, who was with The Royal Engineers, had very scratchy drab outfit. Consequently morale was low. And the opposition looked well turned out.
So that was it with Lemmy, he just wore black.
Many have wondered why he choose the name "Lemmy"
In the late 50's and early 60's there was a BBC Radio series called " A Journey Into Space". Lemmy was one of the characters. Lemmy was a big fan.
He will be sadly missed at the Rainbow, LA. My sympathies go out to his band, his friend, and family and all hiss many fans"[3]
